"Getting to know you"

Since 1970, the year the City of Wheat Ridge, CO was founded, the Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival has attracted thousands of people from Wheat Ridge and surrounding communities.  This, our forty-first festival, will prove exciting with a fireworks display on Friday evening as well as many live music acts which will perform on our main stage with headliners such as the Six Million Dollar Band on Friday night and the Nacho Men on Saturday night. A spaghetti dinner will be put on by the Wheat Ridge Fire Department on Friday night and there is a Chili Cook-off on Saturday night where citizens and surrounding Fire Departments will compete for prizes.  Twenty food vendors will be serving up BBQ, Mexican food and standard festival fare like those yummy funnel cakes. The beer garden, serving margaritas this year, will be a hit with adults while the crafts on the midway are geared to the kids. Check out the art show, classic car show, carnival rides for all ages and the carnation parade held on Saturday morning. You may receive one of the four hundred carnations being handed to parade attendees.  Thanks for your participation!
