The OTC VarmitZ started in 2002 when singer-songwriter Sylvia Murray walked into a music store to buy a guitar and met fret player Mark Hutchinson. A jam session with Sylvia, her banjoist husband Bill Murray, Mark, and bassist/squeezeboxer Jax Delaguerre was followed in the spring of 2003 by a commitment of the four to build a band encasing Sylvia's authentic 21st century folk voice. Now six pieces with the addition of Bruce Baker on fiddle and Vinny DeFrancis on frets, the band has played to popular acclaim around the Front Range, appealing to mature audiences with a taste for musically excellent Americana laced with sparkling originality, humor, and emotional depth.
